Stage 1

The need to prove oneself and work hard at it 

Obsessively demonstrate our worth
An inability to switch off
Work becomes the only focus

Neglect of Self Sets in & Settles in

Erratic sleeping, disrupted eating, lack of social interaction
Dismissal of family, friends and personal problems
Values skewed and hobbies become irrelevant
Intolerance and cynicism towards problems that develop

Life and Others seem less important or valueable 

Non-existent social life
Need to feel relief from stress
Obvious changes in behavior, causing family and friends to become concerned
No longer aware of own personal needs
