WHAT IS OUR ISM?

CREATIVISM

The American Dream: to achieve one's dreams and to find happiness and fulfillment.

"I would love to publish a cover story one day, see my work in the New York Times, and write a book. Most importantly, I want to tell stories that resonate with readers — specifically those in marginalized communities. To me, this is success. While I want financial stability, reaching these goals is ultimately more important to me." (Recinos)

"Maybe that's because, stereotypes be damned, they know something about their work ethic that boomers and other elders do not: Millennials are pretty darned committed to their careers—they just see it in different terms." (Kadlec)

"My version isn't based only on financial success, but something less concrete and equally important. I'm trying to do something my parents couldn't: doing what I really love instead of working just to make ends meet. And I think I can support my family and do what I love if I'm patient enough. It's ip to me to define my own American Dream and to keep working towards it as hard as I can." (Recinos)

Lennie and George's dream was to live off the fat of the land, to tend to the rabbits. They never achieve this dream but the possibility of it held them together. They wanted to find happiness, this was their dream. This relates to my definition of the American Dream in that the dream is to achieve one's dreams and to find happiness and fulfillment.

Our ism today is creativism. This generation strives to achieve their dreams and to find happiness and fulfillment. We all want to achieve our dream and so this is our American Dream.
