The flying dragon has short skinny legs and arms. Their wings are supported by the 5-7 ribs that stick out. Most flying dragon wings are decorated with spots or stripes and bright colors.Along with decorated wings they also have a colorful throat sac. Though usually not visible because of their wings they have a very pale tan under belly.

  • The dragon lizard has a lifespan of 3-5 years.
  • They are 3.5-8.1 inches long including their tail.Their tail and snout is most of their length in most flying lizards.
  • The habitat of the flying dragon is the rainforest or densely treed places in south or south east Asia.
  • One of their many special features is their long tail they use to steer themselves in the air.
  • The flying dragon is a reptile.

REPRODUCTION

  • After a successful mating the female leaves to go dig a hole.
  • Second,she leaves 1-5 eggs in the hole she dug out.
  • She protects the eggs over a period of 24 hours or one day.
  • Finally she covers her eggs with dirt and they are left alone for the rest of their lives.

INTERESTING FACTS

  • The flying dragon can't fly but they can glide tree to tree for about 30 feet.
  • Their throat sac is used to balance them when in the air.
  • Most males live in trees for most of their lives after crawling out of the hole and up on a tree.
  • They eat things such as termites and ants without touching the ground. If they were to sit on the ground they would be prey to almost any animal larger then them.
  • Humans are not predators to the flying dragon because they think they are poisonous but science has pieced together that this is not true.
