I chose this because I would like to know more about it as I have not learnt much about hydroelectric energy before and it seems like a interesting topic to study

POSITIVES

  • It is cheap after it's built
  • Easy to make energy
  • When the dam has been constructed energy can be formed constantly
  • And at a extremely fast rate
  • When electricity is not needed the damn gates can be closed

POSITIVES

  • The dams last for many decades
  • The lakes behind the dams can be used for water sports
  • Some of the dams become tourist attractions
  • The build up of water means energy can be stored until needed
  • The energy does not polute the air

NEGATIVES

  • The dams are expensive to build
  • To make a profit they must operate for a long time
  • Building the dams can cause geological damage
  • some people must move out because of the dam construction
  • Some of the natural environment is destroyed

Where In the World?
