WHAT IS EMBROIDERY

  • Embroidery is a stitched designs with a needle and yarn.
  • Embroidery can be put on just about any piece of cloth

WHO DISCOVERED EMBROIDERY

  • people found embroidery from centuries back there's no telling exactly who invented it
  • Embroidery was also found through many different cultures

WHAT CAN BE USED IN EMBROIDERY

  • Many different Materials can be used in embroidery.
  • Such as silk, wool, linen etc.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HAND AND MACHINE EMBROIDERY

  • a difference between handmade embroidery and machine-made embroidery is the stitching
  • The Machine cannot correct small details

SQUARE LAID FILLING STITCH

  • The square laid filling stitch is a composite stitch
  • It is used to fill areas in counted thread

  • The diagonal laid filling stitch is a composite stitch worked similarly to the square filling stitch

CROSS STITCH

  • Cross Stitch is commonly worked on Aida fabric
  • stitches one stitch over each square in the fabric

SURFACE EMBROIDERY

  • Surface embroidery refers to any embroidery stitch that is worked on the surface of the cloth.
  • There are literally hundreds of embroidery stitches that can be considered surface embroidery.
