Hail
Hail is a round pellet of ice larger than 5mm. It forms only inside cumulonimbus clouds during thunderstorms. It starts as a ice pellet in a cold region of a cloud.

Sleet
Sometimes rain drops in 0 degrees Celsius. When it freezes into solid particles and if it's smaller than 5mm it is sleet
