The battle was fought between the British and the German naval forces. This battle was the only major naval battle in WW|.

Thebattle of Jutland began on May 31 of 1916
The battle field was Denmark's northern sea coast.

Leaders.
The British were lead by the combined efforts of admiral John Jellicoe and Sir David Beatty. The Germans were lead by admiral Reinhardt Von Scheer and Admiral Von Hipper.

Soldiers and Casualties
The battle involved 250 ships and 100,000 men all together. British casualties- 14 ships, 6,784 men
Germany- 9 ships, 3,058 men.

Victors
Both sides claim the win however German forces surrendered. Germany's claim is that they took down more ships. The British being that their fleet is still sea worthy.

Weapons used
The battle was fought with submarines, guns and cannons.

Importance to the war.
One of the main reasons this battle was fought was due to the blockade system the British made. After the battle had ended the British still remained in control of the north seas.
