THE ANDES MOUNTAINS

  • Along the west coast of South America
  • Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuala
  • Temperatures average about 80º F. (27º C.) the year long
  • Tierra fría (cold land), Tierra caliente (hot land), Tierra templada (temperate land).
  • The longest mountain range, and second highest mountain range in the world.

AMAZON RAINFOREST

  • Located in northern South America
  • Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Bolivia, Suriname and French Guiana.
  • Hot, humid
  • Temperatures vary throughout the year
  • The forest floor is almost completely dark, covers 2.1 million square miles of land
