You may know their sound

Or do you?

Maybe you've heard them sampled

or backing your parents' favorite artists

Some of them have been major players for 50 years

And they have one thing in common

They grew up in a community striving for change.

There were some remarkable teachers

Some Award-winning Gospel choirs

And some historic venues

Where these budding stars got their start.

This part of Trenton's History has scarcely been documented

Until now.

We will scour the Archives

Explore what was happening in Trenton at that time

How music was changing

You'll talk to the experts

And the artists themselves

We'll publish the story on a website

And help produce a gala event

with the support from the Bonner Center and community partners
