BLUE SHARK

NAME OF SPECIES

  • P.glauca,
  • Requiem shark,
  • Family carcharhinidae.

PREFERRED HABITAT

  • Deep waters in the wood,
  • Temperate,
  • And tropical oceans.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

  • Blue sharks are light-bodied with long pectoral fins.
  • Blue sharks are counter shading the top of the body is blue,
  • lighter on the sides, and the underside is white.
  • Male can grows (6.0 to 9.3ft), Weights (60 to 120lb)
  • Female can grows (7.2 to 11ft), Weights (210 to 400lb)

FEEDING HABITAT

  • Squid are important prey for blue sharks
  • They also eat cuttlefish and octopuses,
  • Lobster, shrimp, and crab.

CURRENT ESTIMATED POPULATION

  • It is difficult to estimated the current population
  • of blue sharks.
