RELIGION

RELIGION

  • A set of beliefs that people use to explain the world around them.
  • I chose this image because it depicted what looks to be something that people would have so much faith in that they choose to make a beautiful work of art out of it

Adherent

  • To be able to stick to something firmly
  • These people are all so adherent to their religion that they would walk around in long robes in heat for it.

TENENT/BELIEF

  • A feeling that something exists or is right
  • The normal man in this picture may believe that the man painted is something or someone holy by the way he is bowing down to him

MONOTHEISM

  • Believing in only one god
  • One Egyptian pharaoh believed that Egyptians should become monotheistic and believe in only one God, the sun.

POLYTHEISM

  • Believing in more than one God or a group of gods
  • I chose this image because in Greece they worship many gods

ATHEISM

  • Not believing in any gods
  • I chose this picture because atheists believe that there is no proof that there is a god so they don't choose to believe in or get worked up over one.

AGNOSTICISM

  • Not being sure whether you believe in a god or not
  • I chose this picture because agnostic people aren't sure whether they are good without God or not.
