On June 20th me and my friend Lacey randomly decided to tryout for cheerleading.
Neither of us has ever done cheerleading before and came from a dance and lacrosse background.
we both made the team and were excited for the season!
The competition season had a rocky start but our team worked super hard.
we were doing amazing and only needed one more bid to go to nationals, but one of our coaches quit.
We finally got a new coach but she changed a lot about our routine which meant We needed to work super hard everyday until the competition.
We got a new coach who changed our routine which meant We needed to work super hard until the competition.
Because of all of our hard work we, Won and got our final bid to nationals!
Getting on the plane to nationals was super exciting. .
Knowing that we had two chances at winning, we started practicing as soon as we got there.
Every morning we practiced for 2-3 hours then had fun in the parks.
We placed 6th for our competition on our cheers and missed our first chance of making it to finals by 2 points.
At our second competition The whole team hit our routine, and went straight through to finals and placed 5th!
This experience taught me that as an athlete it is an amazing thing to try new sports because trying new sports will make you a better athlete.
Sports can be like trying new food, you never know what your gonna like until you try it.
