NEAP AND SPRING TIDES

Neap Tides.
A neap tide is when the moon is perpendicular to the sun or in 1st or 3rd quarter position the moon and suns gravity cancel each other our giving us smaller tides.

Spring Tides.
Spring tides are when the moon is full or in new moon position. Then the sun and moons gravity support each other making the tides extra powerful.

THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE

• In San Francisco they had to move billion dollar cranes through the bay and under bridges at low tide they cleared the bridges by 6 feet.
