LIFE STORY

• 1880, he lived with his widowed mother and siblings in Coryell County.
• He was accused of killing his sisters husband.
• Sentenced to life in prison.
• He started to rob trains, and started killing in the process.

CAREER

• Purchased interest in a saloon
• Assassin
• Price was between $150 & $2000
• “Killer miller”

FACTS

• Never cursed
• Never drank
• Always dressed well
• Attended church and read the Bible.
• Works as a cowboy and raced horses.

PECOS, TEXAS

• Moved to Pecos, Texas. 1891
• Hired by George A. Frazer
• Moved his family out with him.
• Suspected as a criminal.

DEPUTY

• Miller got fired after shooting a Mexican prisoner.
• Apparently he knew where the pair of stolen mules were.
• They realized he lied, so they fired him.

PLANNING TO KILL

• Sheriff Frazer was out of town
• Planned to Assassinate him.
• Their plan was ruined.
• Arrested.

BREAKING LAWS

• Escaped the long arm of the law.
• Ended up not losing his job.
• Bought a hotel in Pecos.
• Appeared to be living the life of an honest citizen.
• The town finally settled down.

APRIL 18, 1894

• Frazer opened fire on Miller
• Miller shot back and missed.
• Emptied his pistol into millers chest.
• Miller lived.

DEATH

• Miller had a metal breast-plate that he wore under frock coats.
• A sheriff had shot him in the arm and leg and then two slugs in the chest, but he survived.
• He then died April 19, 1909 from lynching in Ada Oklahoma.
