In 2001 some ratbag tried to steal Te Rauparaha's
Te Rauparaha jabbed his sword into the ground and
Te Rauparaha's tribe Ngati Toa lived in Kawhia
Ngati Toa tribe was forced to leave Kawhia when muskets became weapons of choice among other tribes
Te Rauparaha headed south fighting other tribes along the way and ended up controlling the bottom of the north island and living on kapiti island
