PRESENTATION OUTLINE
TETHYS
- She is from Greek mythology
- Tethys was a Titan.
- She was the daughter of Uranus and Gaea.
- She represents rivers and fresh water.
In one myth, Hera was mad that that Callisto and Arcas were let into the heavens by being constellations. She asked Tethys if she could do anything about it, and Tethys did. Tethys denied Callisto and Arcas from being able to touch the land, forced to forever live in the sky.
MORRIGAN
- From Celtic mythology
- She represents death, sovereignty, war, and fate
- Morrigan is known as the Godess of death
- She is the wife of Dagda, the most important god of Celtic mythology (Dagda was almos the "Zeus" of Celtic mythology)
Morrigan fell in love with a warrior named Cu Chulainn, but he rejected her, making her mad. She then got the idea to seek revenge. A few days after that, she claims his life in battle.
SET
- Set is from Egyptian mythology
- He is the god of violence, storms, and chaos
- Set killed his own brother, Osiris
- His name means "instigator of confusion" because of his trickery
After Set killed him, his wife, Isis, magically brings Osiris to life for a short time. During this short time, Isis has a child with him named Horus. Horus wanted revenge, and him and Set engaged in a long, heated conflict.
TLALOC
- From Aztec mythology
- Tlaloc was the god of lighting, thunder, and rain.
- He can cause both floods and droughts.
- Tlaloc means "He who makes things sprout".
Tlaloc was the controller of the fourth level of the the heavens. This place was described as always sunny and always springtime. The people that went to the fourth level with Tlaloc were only the people who had a water related death like drowning or a disease carried by dirty water.
