  • Can help teams build trust and move things forward
  • Encourages all members to participate
  • Less costly compared to due process
  • Requested by parent or district but both need to agree

Dispute Resolution

  • Both parties agree
  • Facilitative and evaluative types
  • Guiding vs giving feedback
  • Stay put status for a child during mediation process

Resolution Meeting

  • Held within 15 days of due process
  • Has to happen unless both side agree to not hold meeting
  • Not confidential
  • Resolution without going to a hearing
