IS THE NBA RIGGED?

INTRODUCTION

• “Everyone who loves pro basketball assumes it’s a little fixed. The outcomes of games aren’t predetermined or scripted but there are definitely dark forces who play with our reality. That’s why the NBA remains the only game of basketball.”

THESIS

• I believe the NBA is rigged because, teams are blowing a 3-1 lead, refs are completely messing up the game with bad and missed calls, and freakishly bad injuries.

3 MAIN POINTS

• Teams blowing a 3-1 lead (warriors) just for you moris (thunder)
• Bad or missed calls by refs (joey crawford)
• Freakishly bad injuries

TEAMS BLOWING A 3-1 LEAD

• It all started in 1968 when the Celtics were playing the Sixers. Sixers were winning 3-1 lead but then the Celtics came back and won because of an injury.Good teams winning 3-1 should easily win one more to win the finals, but the other teams losing somehow come back so that's why I think it's rigged.

BAD OR MISSED CALLS BY REFS

• When the refs come on the court to ref a game they sometime get hate,because they always miss or make a bad call in at least every 1-2 games. One of the worst ones was in the playoffs, Thunder vs Spurs, Dion Waiters a Thunder shooting guard had the ball to pass it inbounds but Manu was in his face to try to block it so Dion shoved to get the ball in and the refs didn't call it so then the Thunder won.

FREAKISHLY BAD INJURIES

• One of the reasons why I think the NBA is, is because of freakishly bad injuries. When the Rockets were playing the Warriors, Steph Curry tried to block Trevor Ariza but the Ariza stood all the way up so then Curry hut his feet on Arizas head so then Curry fell down and hit his head and was out for 2-3 weeks, and then Ariza didn’t get a foul or anything Curry did.

COUNTER-CLAIMS

• Some people think the NBA isn't rigged because, they don't think that teams blowing a 3-1 lead isn't weird at all. Also they think every thing is perfect in the NBA because their favorite team gets what they want.
• Another one is that some people who don't think the NBA is rigged, is because they only watch a couple of games so then they think its perfect and don't care as much as other people do on playoff games

CONCLUSION

• In conclusion, people getting hurt, bad or missed calls by the referees, or teams that are blowing a 3-1 lead. So all i'm saying is the NBA is fixed and they should do something about that. The reason why I chose this topic because I love basketball and it tells me more about what will happen if I made it to the NBA (but i'm not going to make it).
