Why- The importance of this class- DAP Bias, developing WHO you are.

What-Class set up- Syllabus

How- Backwards Design- Unit plan- Lesson plan (week) weekly pieces and take aways.... We are in this together...

Who- learning about age bands and our role within the system.

Utpopia, Reality and the ROLE YOU PLAY

The reality of MOST public schools and the DAP levels within them or as expected from govt and local admin.

UTOPIA- the materials you receive in this class

REALITY- the younger the classroom the more utopic, but as we get into still EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSROOMS- (1-2) we see A LOT of NON DAP practices occurring

THe role of you as a PROFESSIONAL and how you provide this to your students as much as possible.

Our Charges

0-2, 3-5, 6-8
In groups of 2-3, make a concept map or other graphic organizer to describe children’s characteristics and needs 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 in psychomotor, cognitive and affective domains. Share with the class.

What's next...
Intentional Teacher summary and reflection:
Based on the reading provided on Bb Learn, you will write a 2-3 page summary and reflection on Intentional Teaching. You will include a minimum of 5 topics/best practices from the reading that are important for intentional teaching for all children. A rubric will be provided for you.
