IDENTIFIERS

• Make sure right name have them state full name
• Make sure you have them state their DOB
• Make sure they have two IDs on them to make sure they are who they say the are
• Always have their insurance card

HIPAA

• Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
• Always have them say their full name and address
• Do not give personal information out to anyone

RIGHT PATIENT

• Make sure you give the right patient the right medication
• Make sure the doctor has the right information on the patient
• Make sure you do not have the wrong patient because some patients have
• same names

CONSIQUENSES

• You will loose your job if you give out private infromation about anyone, to anyone
• The doctor might loose his job too, and his license to work in the medical field.
• You and the doctor will have fines to pay.

WHAT DO THEY NEED

• They need to know what medication they are getting
• They also need to know why they are getting the medication
• They need to know if their insurance will take care of the medication
