How do you get through that battle armor?
When you adopt a Story Driven Mindset...
- Performance in schools becomes one way to be included in schools.
- Why not collect the history of the school /town and tell this story?
Untitled Slide
- Does the school lack a speech program, address it with storytelling--there is a need.
Untitled Slide
- Power voices with story.
- Create community with story.
- Teach curriculum with story.
- Bring faculty and students together with shared story experiences.
Like Jack, we need to be kicked out.
RECONSIDER WHEN YOU SAY
- I can't tell to pre-school...
- Middle school students simply don't listen.
- Teens don't have time for stories.
- Because THEY NEED YOU IN THIER SCHOOLS. YOU REMIND THEM THEIR STORY IS ALIVE AND THERE IS A PLACE FOR STORY IN THIER LIVES.
Like Jack, we need magic helpers.
Consider Youth As Tellers
"Build Story Connections in addition to Story Performances"
Create a Youth Storytelling Club/Troupe
I seem to remember a book that will help you...
Parents can be Partners for your Work
Work with District Grant Coordinators
We need to suspend our roles as
We are more than performers:
- writer, community builder, test raiser
- director, history alive maker, curriculum extender
- conflict resolution provider, climate maker, inquiry builder...
- And so much MORE
- not to exclude that we are STORY MAKERS--------------------------------
- CONSIDER THIS
Like Jack, who makes his fortune
Sometimes we need to be led by the students
Give Ourselves Permission 2 Play
Sometimes we have to reach in the Box
We can tell about the Northwest Wind
