CINDER CONE VOLCANOES

  • cinder cone volcanoes are also known as the scoria cone.
  • Cinder cone volcanoes are made of loose rocks, ash,and debri, that was thrown out durring the erruption.
  • Cinder Cones volcanoes are the most common volcanoes.
  • Cinder Cone volcanoes can grow quickly but they don't become giants.
  • Cinder cone volcanoes are made up of many cinders .

SHIELD VOLCANOES

  • They could be very large because how short and wide they are.
  • They are formed by runny lava.
  • A shield volcano resembles the apperance of a Hawaiian warriors shield.
  • Many of the largest volcanoes on Earth are Shield volcanoes.
  • They all come in slightly different varriations than the other
  • Shield volcanoes have several lava flows which eventually gives them a shape of a warriors shield .
  • A shield volcano is a volcano filled with flowing magma .

COMOSITE VOLCANOES

  • Also known as "strato volcanoes" because made of alternating layers.
  • Comostite volcanoes can grow to be very large.
  • Most Composite volcanoes form in subduction zones where one tectonic plate goes under another plate.
  • A Composite volcano is formed over hundreds of thousands of years through multiple eruptions .
  • They are made up of many layers of hardened lava tephra pumice and ash
  • Composite volcanoes have very steep slopes forming a symmetrical shape.

  • Each time they erupt it makes the volcone bigger

LAVA DOME VOLCANOES

  • Created when small masses of thick lava that can't flow far so it piles up.
  • Lava domes form from viscous hot thick lava.
  • Most lava domes form at plate boundaries .
  • A Lava Dome is a mass that will form when lava piles up on top of a volcanoes vent.
  • Lava Domes can form anywhere where there is volcanic activity.
  • They accur on the side of a larger volcano
  • A lava dome is a mound that will form when lava piles up over a volcanoes vent instead of moving away .
