You need 3 types of wood: Tinder (pine needles leaves), Kindling (small sticks) and Fuel (large cut logs)
A lighter
Lighter pine (optional)

NEVER leave a campfire unattended, not even for a minute.
DO NOT start a fire in dry conditions.
Keep your fire small and under control.

Evaluate where to start your fire
If the site has low hanging branches, keep your fire small
Fire pits keep your fire contained
You may need a permit

Gather the 3 types of wood
Stack your extra wood away from the fire
If there is no fire ring use rocks or make a 1-in. Tall wall of dirt around the fire
Never cut dead or alive branches off trees

mAking your campfire
Gather tinder for the fire
Place tinder in the middle of the fire pit
Add kindling in a lean to form.
Add lighter pine to the tinder but it should be able to touch most of the kindling.
Use lighter and light the tinder.
When the kindling is burning add fuel (small cut logs).

keep your fire burning
Add more fuel to make the fire bigger.
Blow at the bottom of the fire to keep it going.
Add more logs when the other logs have burned up.
