• Human Health and Safety. Littering can have a direct impact on human health.
• Impact on Wildlife. Litter can have a negative impact on both land- and water-dwelling wildlife.
• Fire Hazard. Litter -- especially cigarette and cigar butts -- can pose a fire hazards.

WHY DO WE LITTER

• People litter because they do not feel responsible for public areas like streets and parks. The more we litter, the more it becomes a habit,and the worse the community looks. Nearly one One of five, or 17% of all disposals observers in the public space were littering.
