PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Alpine Skiing is a sport where you slide down snow covered hills on skis with fixed heel binding
The most important factor in Alpine Skiing is form and timing. Its about who makes it down the hill fastest(without falling). In downhill racing you dont have to hit the poles, unlike slalom which you must hit all the time.
8,000 years ago the Sami people of Northern Scandinavia used skiing on a daily basis as a form of easy transportation because walking in the deep snow was exhausting. The Norwegians developed modern skiing in the late 18th century by adding heel straps to the skis.
Austria, France, Sweden, Finland have skiing as a very common sport.
