Communicating Emotions

  • Verbally: talking with your emotions, and expressing yourself through speech
  • Listening: paying attention, making eye contact, and empathy
  • Body language: nonverbal communication, using your face/ hands/ posture to express what you are feeling

Creative Expression

  • You use an art form to show how you feel
  • Music, dance, painting, writing, sculpting, etc.
  • This is a healthy way to release any emotional tension
  • Negative expression includes: fighting, violence, vandalism, etc.

Unpleasant Emotions

  • When dealing with bad emotions it is best to not think negatively about everything
  • Positive self-talk is the process of thinking about good parts in a bad situation
  • Stress is is the body's response to unpleasant emotions
  • We have a defense mechanism to deal with stress, but sometimes we can lash out towards others in our distress

Triggers

  • A trigger is a person, situation, or event that influences emotions
  • GettIng someone triggered can cause a bad relationship
  • You can have someone triggered buy annoying them or messing around with there emotions

Control

  • You can control your emotions and by doing that you can have healthy emotions.
  • You can talk it out or wright in a diary or even just talk to someone you trust.
  • If you don t know how to control them get help.
