PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Fleas are some of the most common household pests. They eat blood, much like a mosquito, and females need a blood meal before they can lay eggs. The types generally inflicting a house, home, apartment, or virtually any other modern dwelling, are cat and dog fleas.

Going to Battle

  • The basic premise of flea eradication is just like being in a war zone. Think of this as going to battle. You’ll have to be aggressive, you’ll need to be disciplined and you can’t stop until the problem has been destroyed.

Attack the Source First

  • If you have pets, that’s where the fleas are coming from, and it’s the first place you need to begin your conquest. Regardless of what type of pet you have, they need a flea bath, which is the quickest and most effective way to get rid of fleas on them.

Laundry Specialist First Class

  • Virtually anywhere you, or your pet, has rested, they will have dropped eggs, larvae or fleas. Unfortunately, that means you’ll have to wash bedding, dog and cats beds, if the covers come off, and cushion covers on furniture.

Vacuum Acquisition

  • Carpeting, furniture and area rugs must be vacuumed. Do a thorough job here and you’ll suck up the majority of the fleas and larvae that are left.

Sharpshooter Spray

  • A good flea spray, also made with essential oils, should be sprayed where you can’t vacuum or wash. If your pet bed cover cannot be removed, spray that down as well. To make sure the carpet is flea-free, spray onto the carpeting, even onto the places where you have vacuumed, so that even if you missed a few, the spray will get them.

Prevention and Victory

  • If you don’t have a pet, by spraying, washing and vacuuming regularly for 14 days minimum, and the battle will be won. If you have a pet, extend that regimen to a month.
