MICHAEL JACKSON RISE TO FAME

  • Began singing in his family band. (Jackson 5)
  • Their first 4 songs went number one which became a record.
  • Eventually Jackson went solo and his 6th album became the highest selling album of all time worldwide (Thriller)
  • His music is still very popular today earning his family $825 million in 2016.

ISSUES THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE

  • His father, Joe Jackson, admitted to abusing him and his siblings when they were younger.
  • Michael Jackson had lots of appearance issues resulting in him wanting to change how he looked through plastic surgery and changing the color of his skin.
  • In the late 90’s and early 2000’s Jackson had multiple sexual abuse accusations from younger children.

DRUGS THAT KILLED MICHAEL JACKSON

  • According to the Rolling Stone, Jackson’s drug addiction was quite extensive and began in the 90’s and eventually killed him in 2009
  • Propofol (relaxation)
  • Lorazepam (anxiety relief)
  • Midazolam (relaxation)
  • Diazepam (muscle relaxation)
  • Lidocaine (painkiller)
  • Ephedrine (blood pressure medicine)

EFFECTS OF THESE DRUGS

  • Each of these drugs are very strong and should only be used in very small doses.
  • However, when used in large doses, death is very likely.

Controversy of Death
The whole world was shocked when Michael Jackson died. However, the world was truly shocked when they learned that his personal physician had prescribed him too much. Conrad Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter and served only 4 years for the death of Jackson.
