Owls have binaural hearing: one ear is higher placed than the other. This allows the owl to sense the prey's elevation so it can locate it and attack it.

Owls have feathers all the way down their legs to protect them from prey trying to bite them in the air.

Owls fly near silently because the design of the feathers and their soft texture reduces noise.

Owls don't lay all their eggs at onece. They lay them at two day intervals so they hatch two days apart. This eases the feeding burden.

The owlets have to move out at nine weeks old because the food population has been depleted and there isn't enough for everyone.

Barn owls can live up to 20 years, but few live that long because there isn't enough food or because the harsh weather.
