OWLS ARE NOCTURNAL
Nocturnal means that it only comes out at night or its active at night
Ex: owls come out at night to hunt for food

Owls have really good sight at night
Owls can hear really well because their ears are not level
Owls have really strong feet and sharp talons to catch their prey
Owls have a very powerful flight
Owls feathers are soft so they can not be heard while catching prey

Owls have big eyes, it helps them see every little light there is
They have a lot of rods in there eyes which makes them see B&W
They don't have much muscle in their eyes

Owls do not contain cones
They can only see in black and white
But it does have three dimensional visions

HOW DO OWLS REMAIN FIXED
They cannot move their eyes up and down or side to side like humans.
To compensate for lack of eye movement they can rotate their heads 270 degrees.

HOW DO OWLS HEAR
Highly developed auditory hearing system.
Opening has a valve called an operculumn covering it. The opening varies from a small round aperture to an oblong slit with a large operculumn.
Ears are lopsided.

Owls claws are called talons
Their claws are long, sharp and curved

The feathers on its legs keeps it safe from its preys bites
The owls feathers are fringed, it keeps then safe when they fly
Owls are also very quiet when they fly

Barn baby owls feed on rats, insects and little birds

In most owl pellets are bones and fur

Barn owls live to any existent, it just depends on their habitat
