  • Events from beginning to end
  • Ex. Evolution of batman as a heroic figure
  • Ex. 1990's movie portrayal

  • Organize in order of importance
  • Creates dramatic impact
  • Allows time for significance to build
  • Chronological climatic build

SPATIAL PATTERN

  • Space relationship (physical features)
  • Body of speech fits by spatial layout
  • Topic- The World of Drugs
  • Subtopics- North American, South American, Asian

CAUSE AND EFFECT PATTERN

  • "Because of this, that happened."
  • Main headings= Cause and effect
  • Supporting analysis ex: Child Abuse
  • Cause- violence. Effect- physical, social, mental harm

PROBLEM-SOLUTION PATTERN

  • Presents a problem & then provides solutions
  • Logical, easy to understand
  • Policy Solutions: asks audience to contact someone in higher power, challenges
  • Attudinial Solutions: asks audience to become more open minded about opinions
  • Awareness Solutions: think about what they have heard & apply it to themself
