CARBOHYDRATES

  • Chemical Composition: Composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen in a 1:2:1 ratio
  • Function: Providing energy and regulation of blood glucose.
  • Examples: Sucrose, cellulose, chitin, glucose, and starch

LIPID

  • Chemical composition: Carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen
  • Function: Lipids are crucial for energy storage and cell membrane development
  • Examples: Butter is a saturated lipid, and oil is an unsaturated lipid

PROTEINS

  • Chemical composition: Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen
  • Function: Each protein with a body has a specific function
  • Examples|: Chicken, steak, and ostrich

NUCLEIC ACIDS

  • Chemical composition: Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and phosphorus
  • Function: Make up genetic information in living things
  • Examples: DNA and RNA
