PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ORGANELLES OF THE CELL

BY WILL FRANKLIN

MICROTUBULES

  • They are the backbone of the flagella.
  • They are found adjacent to the nucleus.

MICROFILAMENTS

  • They are the cytoskeleton
  • They are found in the cytoplasm and muscle tissue

NUCLEUS

  • Brain of the cell
  • Located in the central region of the cell

CELL MEMBRANE

  • Maintains the cell's integrity
  • Is the outermost layer of the cell

MITOCHONDRIA

  • Produce energy for the cell
  • Found in the cytoplasm

GOLGI APPARATUS

  • Packages protein
  • Located in the cytoplasm near the endo plasmic recticulum

SMOOTH ENDOPLASMIC RECTICULUM

  • Makes lipids
  • Located in the cytoplasm near the nucleus

ROUGH ENDOPLASMIC RECTICULUM

  • Makes protein
  • Located near the nucleus

RIBOSOMES

  • Make protein
  • Located on endo plasmic recticulum

VACUOLE

  • Transports water
  • Located between the nucleus and cell membrane

VESICLE

  • Transports nutrients of the cell not water
  • Found near Golgi complexes in the cytoplasm

NUCLEAR MEMBRANE

  • Maintains the integrity of the nucleus
  • Surrounds the nucleus

CHROMATIN

  • Contains DNA
  • Located in the nucleus

CENTRIOLE

  • Centrosomes
  • Located near the nucleus

FLAGELLA

  • Propels sperm
  • Located eon the surface of the cell

CILIA

  • Moves cells, sweep nucleus
  • Located on the surface of the cell

NUCLEOLUS

  • Makes ribosomes
  • Located inside the nucleus

PEROXISOME

  • Detoxifies drugs
  • Located in the cytoplasm

LYSOSOME

  • Suicide sac
  • Floats in the cytoplasm
