  • Portland was named on a coin toss.
  • Portland is one of two states in the u.s. to have a dormant volcano within city limits.
  • The International Rose Test Garden has over 500 types of roses.

  • Eugene is the birth place of Nike.
  • Eugene is the only place in Oregon where you don’t have taxes.

  • Salem has a population of 150,873 making it one of the largest cities in Oregon.
  • Herbert Hoover spent three years in Salem working as an office boy for his uncle’s land settlement company.

OREGON COAST.

  • There are two Oregon Coast haystack rocks.
  • Seaside-the end of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
  • West Coast game park-it’s America’s largest wild animal petting park.

CASCADE RANGE.

  • They are 700 miles north of Lassen Peak.
  • The elevation of the cascade range is 14,411 feet tall.
  • And the age of rock it is Pliocene.

COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE.

  • The Columbia River gorge is 1243 miles long.
  • The Columbia River is 1 mile wide.
  • There is 75 gorge waterfalls.

BLUE-WALLOWA MOUNTAINS.

  • The blue Wallowa mountian is 9838 feet tall.
  • They are also 4418 feet wide.
  • The peak is called Sacajawea Peak.

KLAMATH MOUNTAINS.

  • The Klamath Mountains are 9025 feet tall.
  • The Klamath Mountains peak is called mount eddy.
  • The Klamath Mountains are 181 km wide.

FOUR REASONS WHY I CHOSE OREGON.

  • Because I had no idea on a place so I just went with the first thing that came to mind.
  • Because I like the Oregon Trail.
  • Because I like oregon and want to go there.
  • Because lots of pioneers grew up in Oregon.
