ORANGUTANS

HABITAT

• Bornean orangutans are found in rainforests
• They spend nearly their whole lives swinging, sitting standing, doing whatever it is that orangutans do, in trees

DISTRIBUTION

• Most bornean orangutan s are found in Kalimantan
• The Bornean orangutan was once distributed throughout large areas of Kalimantan and Sarawak and Sabah on the island of Borneo. But its population has fallen by more than 50% over the past 60 years.

DIET

• Orangutans are omnivores but they rarely eat meat
• Flowers
• Variety of insects
• Over 300 kinds of fruits. Their favourites are durians
• Bark
• Leaves

PREDATORS

• The orangutan doesn't have many predators
• Tigers and other big cats
• Large pythons
• Humans

• Non Bornean orangutans can be found in sumatra

ENDANGERMENT

• Orangutans are very endangered mainly due to humans. We cut down their trees for what's commonly known as Palm oil. We kill their homes and therefore are killing them.
