OPERATION GRATITUDE

Veterans Day
A public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.

WWII MEMORIAL

  • The national World War II memorial is a national
  • memorial dedicated to americans who served in
  • the armed forces and as civilians during World War II.

21 GUN SALUTE

  • Its whenever a person from the military
  • dies, a group of seven soldiers fire off three shots each.
  • 7 times 3 equals 21, thus the name 21 gun salute.
  • Its very important to the family and honors the person that died.

TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SHOLDIER

  • Its a monument dedicated to american service members
  • who have died without their remains being identified.
  • There is always a soldier on duty to guard the tomb and
  • also as a symbol of respect. The soldiers are still there even
  • in serious weather conditions.

CIVIL WAR MEMORIAL

  • The Civil War memorial is a marble monument
  • situated in the center of memorial park in Adrian, Michigan.
  • It honors all the soldiers that fought in the Civil War.

IWO JIMA

  • The battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle in which
  • the United States Armed Forces fought for and captured the
  • Island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese Empire.
  • This picture has became really popular and a remembrance
  • of Iwo Jima.

KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL

  • The Korean War memorial is a very special
  • Monument that commemorates all soldiers that fought in the
  • Korean War it is located in washington D.C and was made in 1995.
  • It is different then lots of other war monuments since ot shows them
  • in action ready to fight.
