• One October and frankenstein both have mystery , and murder
• They both have an old timey setting dating back to the 1700s and the 1800s
• They both have monsters in their characters one October has vampires, and Frankenstein has the monster.

TIME PERIOD AND LOCATION

• One Octobers time period dates back to the 1800s
• The books location is Plainridge, Alabama
• The books time and location give the setting it's mystery feeling and the eerie historical feeling.

MAJOR CHARACTERS

• Greg is the youth pastor who helps the boys figure out what's happening.
• Wes is the first boy of the three, he is the one that noticed the figure in the upstairs window.
• Josh is the second boy, he is the one who thought they shouldn't trespass on the land.
• Cory is the third boy, he is the "leader" of the the three and is the one who left his rifle at the plantation.
• Cory is the one who found the fingernail that is possibly the girl who was kidnapped and taken to the plantation.

MINOR CHARACTERS

• Dot is the owner of dots cafe.
• Earl is the town librarian and historian who tells them about the lynch plantation.
• Hester and Marlene lynch are the vampires who live on the plantation.
• Loretta Sikes is the woman who Cory saw being carried into the house.
• Sheriff Hayes is the sheriff who burned down the lynch house to end the towns problems.

CONFLICTS

• One conflict is the vampires keep kidnapping people.
• No one will believe Earl,Cory ,and Greg.

PLOT

• The exposition of the story is Earls theory that Hester and Marlene are vampires.
• The rising action is when Cory finds the fingernail at the house.
• The climax is when Earl, Cory, and Greg are leaving the house and hear screaming/howling.
• The falling action is when Earl, Cory, and Greg go to the house to kill Hester and Marlene.
• The resolution is when they kill Hester and Marlene and the sheriff sets the house on fire.
