WHO WERE THE OLMEC

• The word olmec means rubber people in Aztec they used this word because they used rubber which came from the first area they inhabited so thats why we call them the olmec now.

• They lived in the southern part of the gulf of Mexico. Which is surrounded by hot and humid areas of swamps, lagoons and tropical forests.

THE LA VENTA

• The olmec were the first Mexican civilisation. They made a ceremonial mosaic in a pit and they called it the La Venta and the priests of the olmec used to bless the work and it was seven metres deep.They used fine stone to build the La Venta.

• The olmec were people that made interesting statues and objects to represent them. And things they used. The stone heads they created were similar to the smaller figures they made too.No one knows what happened to the olmec civilisation.😮
