WICHITA MOUNTAINS

  • Located in the southwestern corner of Oklahoma.
  • The mountains are home to numerous working ranches.
  • The Wichita Mountains took the name of the American Indian tribe that lived in this region years ago.

TUNER FALLS

  • Tuner Fall is an American waterfall that reaches 77 feet tall.
  • You can also hike at Turner Falls as well as exploring caves.
  • Turner Falls was in the movie “Where the Red Fern Grows.”

BEAVER BEND STATE PARK

  • There is a Nature Center that you can visit.
  • There is a Craft Fair that you can visit to.
  • It also has 1,300 acres land to explore.

TUNER FALLS

  • Tuner Falls is the oldest park in Oklahoma.
  • Tuner Falls has been compared to the Grand Canyon and the Black Hills.
  • There is also a walk in castle in Tuner Falls

Arkansas River

  • Arkansas River is this sixth longest river in the United States.
  • Arkansas River is known for its trout fishing.
  • In 1819 the Adoms-Onis treaty made Arkansas River a part of the frontier between the United States and the Spanish Mexico.

ROBBERS CAVE STATE PARK

  • The cave has had many improvements since 1929.
  • By 1890 the mountains were teeming with gold seekers.
  • The cave was know for hideouts to.

MT SCOTT

  • My Scott is 2,464 feet tall.
  • Mt Scott is the second highest mountain in the Wichita Mountains.
  • You can also hike and bike on the mountains.

LAKE TEXOMA

  • Lake Texoma is located between Oklahoma and Texas.
  • There are several small islands on Lake Texoma.
  • Lake Texoma has to State Parks .

FOUR REASONS I CHOSE OKLAHOMA

  • One reason I chose Oklahoma is because my dogs name is Oakley and we always say” Oklahoma where wind comes sweeping down the plains.
  • Oklahoma has the largest American Indian population of any state.
  • Carrie Underwood is originally from Oklahoma.
  • One of Oklahoma’s city names is Cookietown!
