  • Okinawa is a Japanese island in the East China Sea.
  • There are more than 400 centenarians in Okinawa
  • Largest factor is the cuisine

OKINAWA

  • Has the highest number of population over 100 years old.
  • Not strictly vegan!
  • Eats for fish and indulges in some pork.
  • "The Okinawan Diet" is nutritionally dense yet low in calories.

  • Okinawan soba is the signature dish and consists of wheat noodles served hot in a soup, usually with pork (rib or pork belly).
  • smaller meal portions of green and yellow vegetables, fish, pork, goat, beef, soy and other legumes.

  • The sweet potato provides a large source of energy while keeping calories low
  • 70% of their diet is the satsuma sweet potato.
  • Home grown and organic.
  • Full of beta carotene and vitamin A
