The truth Hurts

Oedipus is constantly searching for the truth but this ends up hurting him and his family even more. and many try to protect oedipus or do not want to give the truth like teiresias and the shepard but oedipus presses on

Be Humble

The ego blinds you. It stops you from seeing the world as it truly is but only see yourself and your own problems

In oedipus his hubris block his ability to understand the situation and communicate with various parties

King james 1

King James the first of England believed that he had Divine Right
Kings were appointed by God from above and had supernatural powers. If anyone dared to question a king then he was questioning God: This amounted, in fact, to blasphemy. Even if a king behaved badly no one could criticize him; only God, in his own time, could punish him.

He blieved that he was above the law and everything else
"The State of monarchy is the supreme thing on Earth........ As to dispute what God may do is blasphemy, so is it treason in subjects to dispute what a king may do....."

A good king will frame his actions according to the law, yet he is not bound thereto but of his own goodwill."

He went against parliment so many timese and disregarded with what they had to say so he disbanded parliment in 1611.

His son believed in manhy of the same things and was overthrown in a rebellion.
