RESEARCH DIVING

These divers venture out unto the depths to collect materials, or really whatever the scientist require from observing underwater life, to collecting tissue samples.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Essentially, no college requirements are needed to be a research diver. Just a diving certification and a certain amount amount of hours diving.

Most divers are paid by the hour. However, research divers with contracts mostly get $59,321 annually. Although most divers get paid by the hour, usually $20/hr

CAN THIS JOB BE ACQUIRED IN HAMPTON ROADS?

  • Yes, it can, many different scientist and boat owners hire divers to do these types of jobs.

JOB BENEFITS

  • They're many benefits to diving. Like health wise. Blood circulation, agility, and strength build up.

JOB DRAWBACKS

  • The job is very dangerous. Anything from the wildlife attacking you, to coming up too fast and having bubbles pop in your brain and crippling you.
