National Youth Administration
Also known as NYA
Founded in June 1935

Why was it created?
The NYA was created to provide financial needs and trained children from the age of 16-25 to work. It also offered additional courses of writing, arithmetic and reading.

Who it benefited?
The National Youth Administration benefited youths the age 16-25. It provided support and aid for youths during the Great Depression.

WAS IT SUCCESSFUL? YES!

  • The NYA trainded more than 2 million youths.
  • Employed 2.6 million through thier programs.
  • Provided 16.2 million dollars to help fund.

Nya Coming to a close
It was a sad day when the National Youth Administration came to a close. It closed because people argued that the NYA was expensive and valueless, the NYA fell into a national critism. In September of 1943 the National Youth Administration came to a end.
