HYPERSENSITIVITY TO DIETARY SUBSTANCES FROM TREE NUTS

SYMPTOMS

  • Abdominal pain, cramps
  • Nausea
  • Difficulty swallowing and breathing
  • Itching of the mouth, throat, nose, or other area
  • Nasal congestion
  • Shortness of breath

Most people grow out of it but not all do

IF CONSUMED

  • Wheezing
  • Trouble breathing
  • Coughing
  • Hoarseness, throat tightness
  • Stomachache nausea swollen, itchy, or watery eyes
  • Hives
  • Throat swelling

AVOID

  • All nuts that come from trees
  • Almonds
  • Brazil nuts
  • Chestnut
  • Coconut
  • Pistachio

TIPS

  • Avoid fried food
  • Always ask about ingredients
