PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NUCLEAR FUSION

THE SUN

Nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which two or more nuclei join together at a very high speed to form a new type of nucleus.

THE SUN IS A STAR IN THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE THAT ALL THE PLANETS ORBIT AROUND

The Sun does not burn The Sun glows because it is a very big ball of gas, and a process called nuclear fusion is taking place in its core. Nuclear fusion occurs when one proton smashes into another proton so hard that they stick together...and release some energy as well. This energy then heats up the other materials . This heating eventually grows out from the center (or core) of the star to the outside, finally leaving the surface out into space to be the heat and light

THE SUN WAS DISCOVERED BY Galileo Galilei in the year 1610

10 IMPORTANT FACTS

(NUCLEAR FUSION)

Nuclear fusion reactions cannot be contained by anything we know of so far

NUCLEAR FUSION

  • Nuclear fusion produces greater amounts of energy than nuclear fisson
  • it has may be Able to provide a nearly endless supply of energy
  • Nuclear Fusion occurs on the sun and other stars
  • Nuclear Fusion produces less radioactive waste than nuclear fission
  • Temperatures over a million degrees must be reached (called a thermonuclear reaction)

NUCLEAR FUSION PT. 2

  • The process of Nuclear Fusion is, which multiple like charged atomic nuclei
  • If the combined nuclear mass is less than that of iron at the peak of the binding energy curve
  • Nuclear is accompanied by the release or absorption of huge amount of energy
  • Nuclear Fusion occurs in the plasma of matter
  • 1% of the mass of the atom is contained by anything known oor invented as of yet

NUCLEAR FUSION

NUCLEAR

OF OR RELATING TO THE NUCLEUS OF AN ATOM

FUSION

THE PROCESS OR RESULT OF JOINING TWO OR MORE THINGS TOGETHER

Nuclear and FUSION comes together to create compounds of atom that generate for a long time

THE SUN CREATES ENERGY THROUGH THE NUCLEAR FUSION OF HYDROGEN NUCLEI INTO HELIUM.

The sun can continue burning like this for 4 billion years as long as 4 hydrogen and 1 helium elements come together and form energy

Nuclear Fusion helps us to better understand the sun because it helps us see that Nuclear fusion is the source of why the sun keeps burning or glowing bright and hot

It is important to know about our topic as it relates to the sun because if we did not know about Nuclear fusion then we wold not know how the sun keeps burning or glowing
