BENEFITS

  • Low pollution
  • Low maintenance costs
  • It's reliable and will last us a fair amount of time
  • More productive, less fossil fuels are used.
  • A lot of energy is produced

DISADVANTAGES

  • Negatively impacts the environment
  • Radioactive Disposal
  • Nuclear Accidents
  • Uranium is limited
  • High Disposal cost

FUSION

  • Fusing lighter atoms together
  • Occurs in the stars and the sun
  • High energy and temperature

FISSION

  • Splitting large atoms into smaller ones
  • Rare in nature
  • Takes little energy with this process

Nuclear energy is by far the cheapest according to this graph

NUCLEAR WEAPONS

  • Very destructive (total area is leveled)
  • Countries have increased the amounts of nuclear weapons. And could potentially use them against us and destroy our country.

3 MILE ISLAND

  • Was on the verge of a meltdown
  • The compress able to control it
  • Although, cancer rates were increased and infant mortality rates
