WHAT IS IT
- Nuclear energy is using uranium to heat water and spin turbines
- Uses uranium-235, a nonrenewable resource
- Nuclear energy is a clean source of energy

BACKGROUND
- Uranium is believed to have come from one or more supernovae
- It was created around 1.65 billion years ago
- People think nuclear energy is the same thing as a nuclear bomb
ENERGY
- Energy is created when uranium is used top heat up water
- It then spins turbines to create electricity
- It produces electricity
CURRENT USES
- The current uses of this resource are to power homes, schools etc.
- There are over 500 plants powering these things
- Nuclear energy produces 13% of the worlds electricity
BENEFITS
- It gives us a clean source of energy
- It frees us from our dependence of fossil fuels
- It has 100000 times less waste output
DRAWBACKS
- People fear that a plant could blow up, but its highly unlikely
- It leaves behind a lot of radiation and waste
- Takes roughly 14 years to clean up
FUTURE SUPPLY
- At our current usage rate we will have about 200 years left of uranium
- Our dependence on nuclear energy will probably go down
- We will likely have 200-300 years left
