SAINT IGNATIUS Of LOYOLA

  • Saint Ignatius of Loyola injured in battle
  • He read a book about Jesus Christ during his recovery
  • Ignatius and his friends formed the Society of Jesus for the Jesuits
  • The Jesuits opened many schools and became a leader in education

SAINT PETER FABER

  • Saint Peter Faber went to Paris for college and met Saint Francis Xavier and Saint Ignatius of Loyola
  • He joined the early Jesuits and helped stop the spread of protestantism
  • Peter Faber had a great devotion to the angels

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

  • Saint Francis Xavier taught philosophy at the university of Paris
  • He was heavily influenced by Ignatius of Loyola
  • Frances Xavier went to India to help re establish the faith of portagese colonists
  • He went to Japan to spread Christianity but found it very difficult
  • Francis Xavier then planned to go to china but fell ill and died

  • Saint Peter Claver studied at Jesuit universities
  • He was ordained and went to Columbia to help incoming slaves
  • He converted them and helped them as mush as possible

  • He got a kidney disease and read about saints during recovery
  • Gonzaga become a Jesuit
  • He died serving the sick during a plague in milan
