DECLAN FLAHERTY

ST IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

  • Ignatius' real name is Iñigo de Oñaz y Loyola
  • He created the Jesuit order or "Society of Jesus"
  • He was canonized 66 years after his death

ST FRANCIS XAVIER

  • Francis was born in a castle
  • He became good friends with St Ignatius
  • He was one of the founders of the Jesuit order

ST PETER FABER

  • Peter was roommates in Paris with Ignatius and Francis Xavier
  • He was one of the founders of the Jesuit order
  • He was canonized by Pope Francis in 2013

ST ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

  • Gonzaga was born to a powerful Italian family
  • He served on the Grand Duke Francesco I de’Medici at age 8
  • He joined the Jesuit order and left his powerful family

ST EDMUND CAMPION

  • Edmund was originally an Anglican deacon in England
  • He was accepted by the Jesuits when he visited Rome
  • He was hanged, drawn and quartered after being arrested for practicing Catholicism
