All of these Jesuits here are highly recognized in the Christian Church. Some played a big part in the start of the Society of Jesus and some are playing are part currently.

SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

  • Founded the Society of Jesus
  • Soldier in the Spanish army
  • Attended school in order to convert people to Christianity

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

  • Co-founder of Society of Jesus
  • Companion of Ignatius
  • First Christian to venture in Japan

POPE FRANCIS

  • First Jesuit Pope
  • Was Argentina's provincial superior of the Society of Jesus.
  • Helped restore diplomatic relations between U.S. and Cuba

SAINT EDMUND CAMPION

  • Was a Martyr
  • First believed in the Anglican Church
  • First novice accepted into the Society of Jesus

ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

  • Member of Society of Jesus
  • Died caring for victims of an epidemic
  • Canonized in 1726

As you have seen all of these Jesuits were special In their own ways. One was the first Jesuit Pope, the other a martyr, and others founders of the Society of Jesus.
